We scan every night. The numbers do not change every night. The 5am
scan matches new sponsored videos to the company that paid for them, and over
the last year it added drinks records on 102 days out of 365. So this count
keeps growing. Nothing here is live.
A handful of videos is not a programme. A brand under 5 recorded
videos shows no numbers here. Starbucks is why. We hold 12 deal rows for it and
the page could only match 4, because the rest carry no company website. So a
tiny number is usually our matching falling short rather than a brand that paid
for two videos and stopped, and if you open the brand every row we hold is still
sitting there.
Mostly YouTube, plus Instagram where we have scanned it. The video record
is YouTube. Instagram covers 409 brands and 17,437 posts, and every
other brand says not scanned instead of showing a zero, because those are two
different facts.
Not every drinks brand in the world. These are the 1,987 companies
we have confirmed so far. The full count runs into the tens of thousands. Another
137 rows sit behind the Other button, because our own check says they sell
a powder, a capsule or a bar rather than a drink.
View counts cover 99% of the videos. 45,267 of 45,605 sponsored
videos carry a view number. So the total at the top is close, and still a little
short.
Searched and found nobody is not the same as never searched. The famous
face check covered 65 brands and found somebody on 44,
and if you open any one of them it tells you which of the two you are looking
at.
A named campaign is only as good as the page it links to. We found these
398 campaigns and signings by searching for them and reading what came
back. Then we checked every one against the page it cites, twice. Once by
machine, that the page loads and carries the sentence we quote. Once by reading
the page against the claim. 198 came through Solid: named, dated, and
carried by a source that is not the brand talking about itself. The rest say
Probable, meaning one source, or the brand as its own source. Every one shows its
link, because the useful thing about a campaign name is being able to go and
check it.
Only campaigns with a name are here. A brand quietly paying creators every
month is running something. It is not a named campaign, and it is already on this
page as videos. Counting it twice would make every brand look busier than it
is.
A low number means one of two things. The brand does not pay creators, or
the brand pays them somewhere we do not watch. Shorts, TikTok and podcasts are
not counted at all, so an Instagram-first brand reads low here whatever it
spends. That is a gap in what we cover. We would rather say so than let the
number speak.
No prices anywhere. We hold no record of what any brand paid a creator.
So there is no cost on this page, and no estimate dressed up as one. Everything
here is counted: videos, creators, views, posts and dates. Company size, where it
shows, is the company's own reported revenue, never a media spend.
